05/11/08 (0.23 am GMT, 01:23 CET): MTV Networks Europe suffered from technical problems. As a result, all four of its satellite transponders stopped broadcasting for a couple of minutes, and when the signal came back, all channels on those transponders were broadcast in the clear. Their frequencies are:
11895 V 27500 2/3 on Astra 2A, 28°.2 east
11739 V 27500 3/4 on Astra 1G, 19°.2 east
11973 V 27500 3/4 on Astra 1G, 19°.2 east
11075 V 27500 3/4 on HotBird 6, 13°.0 east
On Astra 2A and Astra 1G, service names of most channels were replaced by temporary names.
MTVNHD disappeared from its Astra 1G and HotBird 6 frequency, MTV Portugal disappeared from Eurobird 9 (9° east).
Mosaic channel from french package CanalSat displayed a black picture on missing channels from MTV.
And from 02:03 to 02:06 CET, all channels usually available on HotBird (11075 V) have been transmitted
through Astra 1G (11973 V), and then everything started to go back to normal, including the encryption,
except channels on Astra 1G (11739 V), which remained in the clear until late afternoon. |
